I am writing to invite you to our 2nd annual RE:GENERATION Weekend on June 6-8. This is an exciting opportunity for you to get a taste of the passion behind ministry to youth & children!
"But I'm not involved in the Youth & Children's Ministry..." you might say. Exactly! That's why RE:GENERATION is not just a retreat for current Youth & Children's Workers but it is also an Invitational Weekend... a chance for people like you to hear about today's youth and their world, as well as to begin to understand in a more clear way the passion, methods and purpose in today's Youth & Children's Ministry.
This is an opportunity for us to learn together, grow together, pray together as we share life, faith and ministry together. And to possibly have our eyes opened to new ministry possibilities!
Our guest this year, is a Youth Ministry veteran, who has a deep passion for youth leaders and the next generation, and for seeing them become the people God has called them to be in this day. Larry Ashcraft is a Salvation Army officer, with whom Sheryl and I had the privilege to work with and come to respect and love and a friend during our time in the States. He is one of the very few people in the Army who really "gets it" when it comes to learning, understanding and communicating the gospel to today's youth culture. You will not want to miss what you are able to gain through his ministry... both for yourself and for ministry to our young people!
We understand that there are a number of events that are calling for time and registration fees at this time of year, so we have a couple of plans to help ease some of that for you. We do not want anyone to feel they have to miss because of finances or other factors of close calendar events, so we have come up with a couple of solutions that may work for some:
1. Because our budget has now rolled over and will not close until March 2009, payment of the registration fee can be made throughout the year on an installment basis. This serves to help those who may be feeling the squeeze of the many retreat opportunities that have presented themselves recently.
2. For those of you who are band members: we realize that this is the same weekend as the Bread & Honey Parade. If you would like to come up immediately following the parade and join with the rest of the group (we'd love to have you!) then this too will drop the registration cost for you, as we will simply be charged on a per person/per night basis.
We strongly encourage each of you to take full advantage of this tremendous opportunity we have as a team to be equipped, to be refreshed, to come away and connect with each other and with God in a powerful way!
Applications need to be submitted by: May 11, 2008. *(remember, full payment does not need to be in by this date, simply your confirmation and an initial payment of a portion of the registration fee).
Cost: $115/person; $200/couple.
